Public Hunting Season and Regulations, 2007-2008

These dates and limits are for September 1, 2007 - March 15, 2008 only.

Public hunters must obtain permit, No overnight camping is allowed, Non-Toxic shot is required for waterfowl hunting.

EXTENDED QUAIL SEASON - Only the Yakima River Corridor (east of US 97 from Union Gap to the junciton of US 97 and S.R. 22 and east of S.R. 22 from junction of US 97 and S.R. 22 to Mabton). Jan. 1 - 16, 2008.

Daily Bag Limit - 10, Possession Limit - 30.

REPORT QUAIL BANDS!!! - Please report all quail bands to YN Wildlife @ 509-865-5121, ext. 6309, or e-mail us at: ynwildlife@yakama.com.

Please, park your vehicles away from duck and goose hunting areas. Parked vehicles affect the success of decoy sets. THANK YOU.

**DUCK

DAILY DUCK BAG - 7 Ducks, not to include more than: 2 hen mallards, 1 pintail, 2 redheads, 1 canvasback, and 3 scaup.

DUCK POSSESSION LIMIT - Twice the daily bag for all.

YOUTH PUBLIC HUNTING WEEKEND

September 22-23, 2007. - ONLY Duck, Goose, Coot, Cock Pheasants, and Quail may be harvested. Daily bag and possession limits are the same as regular seasons.

Hunters 15 years and under must be accompanied by an adult (at least 18 years of age) with a valid Yakama Nation Hunt & Fish Permit

SOUTH LATERAL A WILDLIFE AREA

Special Public Hunting Regulations - Public hunting allowed only on Wednesdays and Sundays. Public hunting access by reservation only. Contact the YN Wildlife Program for reservations.

SATUS WILDLIFE RECREATIONAL AREA (SWRA)

2007-2008 Only - Public hunting allowed: All Saturdays, Sundays, and Wednesdays: Oct. 14, 2007 - Jan. 14, 2008. These Holidays: Nov. 12, 22, 23, and Dec. 24, 25, 27, 28, 31. Every Day: Jan. 14-27, 2008.

The SWRA is located on Satus Longhouse Road approximatley 13 miles southeast of Toppenish on Highway 22.
